GEO dialogue series on data sharing and data management principles - Data life cycle

Organised by Group on Earths Observations (GEO), the GEO Data Working Group will hold a weekly webinar to address both the theoretical and practical implementations of data sharing and management principles. They will present their newly released resources in an effort to support learning opportunities and the adoption of open knowledge principles in the development of Earth Observation tools and services, included in this is the GEO Work Programme. This virtual meeting will take place every Monday from 5th September to 24th October 2022, available online via Zoom.
On 5th September 2022, the topic of discussion is 'Data life cycle'. The GEO Programme Board has introduced innovative guidelines on GEO Data Management Principles, which can be applied to the entire data management lifecycle. Rubio presented the Data Sharing and Data Management Dialogue. He covered DWG’s contribution and efforts to raise awareness of the Data Sharing and Management Principles. During the meeting, Data Lifestyle was defined by Marie-Christine Jacquemot as a ‘model/representation of the various stages during which people interact with data and tasks must be performed to manage and ensure data quality.’
Key speakers of this webinar included; Miguel Fernandez from iDiv, Karl Benedikt from the University of New Mexico, and Marie-Christine Jacquemot from the Institute de l'Information Scientifique et Technique, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique.
Bente Lilja Bye, BLB, Norway and Marie-Francoise Voidrot, and Open Geospatial Consortium will lead the dialogue series and contribute their expertise on the topics presented.
