The online workshop ‘Jelly - systems and tools for locating bloom of jellyfish and predicting their displacement towards the coast’ will be held on 15th June 2022 between 9:30am - 13:00pm CET.
We encourage all participants interested in this event to attend virtually via the livestream. The workshop will address the widespread issue of jellyfish blooms and their displacement towards the coast.
A particular focal point of the two part workshop includes the Copernicus satellite data products, which can assist in the presence prediction of jellyfish. CITIZENS-SCIENCE based projects have also been proposed in the Mediterranean sea to collect jellyfish based data.
This workshop aims to organise the scientific community for the purposes of collecting user requirements and creating a collaborative experience. Scientists and experts will share their perspectives on improvements for the detection of jellyfish blooms using the Copernicus data.
Representing Iliad, Dori Edelist, from University of Haifa will be presenting their latest jellyfish modelling paper and showcasing the Citizen Science jellyfish observation digital twin pilot, that will be run as part of the Iliad project.
